Brighton the destination as Gen3 Marketing prepares for the Affiliate Huddle
From Las Vegas to Miami, 2023 has already proven a busy year for the Gen3 team’s involvement at affiliate conferences. With PI Live Miami still fresh in the memory, April provides the UK team with their first outing of the year as they head to the stunning coastal scenery of Brighton, and Affiliate Huddle.
The upcoming one-day conference, scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, will be hosted at the elegant Brighton Dome Concert Hall for the first time and is a precursor to Brighton SEO. The move to a larger venue reflects the events continued development and progress since its first outing in London, in 2015. In contrast to other events that have incorporated performance marketing into their programs, Affiliate Huddle is devoted entirely to affiliate marketing and aims to showcase industry expertise while celebrating best-practices and sparking debate in a laid-back atmosphere.
James Little, who co-founded the conference, has taken a leading role in shaping the events continuously changing landscape, and is eagerly anticipating this year’s edition that he has organized alongside his full-time role at Top Cashback. James shares “At times it feels like a full-time job – but this is a passion project for me – so I end up working some crazy hours in advance of the event to try and get the schedule right. Add that on top of my “day job” and it can be a little stressful but when I turn up and see hundreds of people having a wonderful day then it makes it all worthwhile. I am really excited about moving to the new venue and continuing to make this a great show for people to attend.”
Bruce Clayton, Senior Vice President at Gen3, has been a regular Affiliate Huddle attendee through the years. As an industry expert, he recognizes and appreciates the key role that this event plays in launching the affiliate conference circuit throughout the UK. Bruce explains “Focussed on the affiliate industry it is a less formal conference, and while centred around a schedule of relevant talks and panel-based discussions it provides a much wider forum for meetings and discussions for attendees. It is free to attend for people not wanting a stand or sponsorship presence, and being outside London attracts a more inclusive audience of stakeholders in the affiliate space than other industry events.
At the heart of this year’s event will be the inclusion of even more industry content. Last year’s event moved away from single person presentations with the focus shifting to panels, encouraging more thought-provoking debate. The sold-out event will finish with the keynote panel: ‘The Leader’s Debate,’ which aims to give some insights into what to expect from Affiliate Marketing over the next 12 months.
Accompanying Bruce to Brighton will be Gen3 team members Mel Blue, Elise Landrieu-Bratu and Slavina Velinova. Elise’s exemplary collaboration with tails.com in 2022 earnt a ‘Best Managed Affiliate Program SME’ award at the prestigious Performance Marketing Awards. Elise understands Gen3 Marketing’s involvement in affiliate events to be of utmost value as they build trustworthy relationships, and according to her, “Attending these events forges bonds with affiliates and clients that we work alongside daily on a personal level. Affiliate Huddle provides a platform for networking and most importantly, highlighting Gen3 Marketing’s experience and expertise.
Mel Blue, who has advanced to a Senior Director role at Gen3 and was honored with the Industry Rising Star accolade in 2021 explains “The impact of Covid-19 really highlighted how important these events are for the industry. It is easier to get opportunities secured when you are meeting in person over coffee and putting names to faces, whether that’s affiliates, networks, or potential clients, is always beneficial. It is also a fantastic opportunity to really highlight the channel to our clients who attend with us.
