Tell us a little about yourself.

I am from Blue Bell, PA (yes, I grew up a few miles from Gen3, and now I live a few miles away from Gen3 in a slightly different direction), and a graduate of Penn State University (class of 2001) with degrees in Public Relations and Business Administration. Both ended up being rather useful in the digital marketing world!

As for my family life, I am single, however, I do have a large record collection, which is sort of like being married in the sense that it takes up a lot of space and doesn’t provide much help with the laundry. In all seriousness, I’d like to get married and have kids someday.

How did you hear about Gen3 Marketing?

I had been looking for a change in my career and the Blue Bell location was the first thing that caught my eye, especially since I had a terrible commute at the time. I was then later contacted by a recruiter to discuss a position here, and after meeting with the team, I was sold!

What’s your favorite thing about working at Gen3?

Being able to work with a wide variety of clients and associated verticals. A nice mix of retail, financial services, and more! It keeps things fresh and challenging, and there is always knowledge gained from one client that can then be applied to another. And my co-workers are both hard working and fun to be around, which is a rare combination indeed!

What did you do prior to joining the team at Gen3?

I’ve had a wide variety of jobs over the years, everything from the standard office environment to construction to retail management. Prior to joining Gen3, I was an in-house affiliate manager for a company here in PA, which got me going to where I am today!

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I’m a big music fan, so I go to a lot of concerts (almost at 400). Other than that, I like to read or watch TV/movies, or be involved in some sort of outdoor activity. I like going on long walks in a nature-rich environment. Throw some spicy food into the mix, and I’m happy. I’m fairly low-key and not an adrenaline junkie by any stretch of the imagination.

I also have a lot of family in the general area, so I’m usually visiting them at some point during the weekend. Or, a quick trip up to NYC to visit friends.

If you could describe working at Gen3 Marketing in one word, what would it be?

Illuminating.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

A cold beer on a hot day. Or hot soup on a cold day. Basically any tasty liquid that is the opposite temperature of whatever is going on outside.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

I like trying new places, so I don’t have anything that I would consider a regular/favorite destination. Any place that is walkable with good restaurants and a museum or three is a place I’d want to visit! If I had to pick one, it would be the Florida Keys, for reasons of pie and otherwise.

If you had the chance to meet one celebrity or athlete, who would it be and why?

George RR Martin, so I could tell him to stop messing around and finish writing Game of Thrones already.

What would be your dream vacation?

I’d like to go on a tour of Asia and hit up cities both big and small. Hong Kong, Bangkok, Tokyo, Chengdu, etc. I’ve had friends who have lived in Vietnam and raved about it, so that goes on the list too.

What is your greatest fear?

Being stuck in a desert with only five albums to choose from.

If you were stuck in a desert, which five albums would you choose to have with you?

Crap. Well, if I had to choose:

  • Hawkwind – Space Ritual
  • Grateful Dead – Europe ‘72
  • King Crimson – Larks’ Tongues In Aspic
  • Tangerine Dream – Force Majeure
  • Frank Zappa – Hot Rats

Stay tuned for next month’s Employee Spotlight!
